IPL AUCTION 2024
Complete list of sold and unsold players for all ten teams
Sports Star has released the complete list of players sold and unsold in the IPL 2024 auction, including batters, bowlers, all-rounders, and wicketkeepers.
The 2024 IPL Auction, held overseas for the inaugural time, saw the procurement of 72 players
valued at 230.45 crore rupees by ten teams at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
Australian cricketer Mitchell Starc set a new record as the most expensive player ever sold at an IPL Auction,
with the Kolkata Knight Riders securing his services for Rs. 24.75 crores.
Following suit, World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins fetched the second-highest bid, joining the Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 20.50 crore.
Initially, a heated bidding battle unfolded between arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians for Cummins.
However, the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad ultimately clinched Cummins with their respective bids.
Additionally, SRH secured Travis Head, the Player of the Match in the 2023 World Cup final, for 6.80 crore.
In a surprising twist, SRH also secured Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga for his base price of 1.50 crore.
During the auction, Punjab Kings made history by recording the highest bid for an Indian player, with Harshal Patel joining the franchise for 11.75 crore rupees.
Chennai Super Kings’ first pick was Rachin Ravindra, secured for 1.80 crore rupees.
The return of Shardul Thakur to Chepauk was met with enthusiastic cheers from the fans.
